a friend of mine.

a friend of mine ordered one of these.
my whole life i have wanted a motorcycle.
for those of you who do not know, i brew up on the back of one, cruising along the back of my dad's bike through greater chicagoland.
wow. i cannot wait to go for a ride.
anyone else out there miss a good bike ride?
the power? the heat? the wind on your face? the buzzing humm?

what in the?

what in the hell happened to him?
remember when he looked good?
i think this may be the last time he looked good.

vdp on people.com!

as you all may know, my fabulous cousin vanessa designs women's accessories and distributes them exclusively to her best friends, the owners of Jake. yesterday, at the recommendation of john mayer, ms. jessica simpson dropped into Jake in chicago and bought one of vanessa's obi belts and wore it out of the store. people.com is reporting it now, and mentions vanessa by name. it seems us and the chicago sun-times will also be carrying the story.

take a peak here.

go vanessa!

Not only is it extremely cruel to persecute in this brief life those who do not think the way we do, but I do not know if it might be too presumptuous to declare their eternal damnation. Evelyn Beatrice Hall

and it continues....

snow yesterday. snow today. no end in site. at least we are back in the 20s, and not the single digits.

someone needs to explain this to me.

i live in michigan. what do you think of when you think michigan? snowy cold winters, right? me too. one would think that an extension of that would be snowplows and clean streets. one would not think the streets would be like our nation's capital. (in case you did not know, it takes about a week after a snowfall in the greater washington, dc area to plow every road.) well, in this way, i have not left dc.

chicago, oh that paragon of snow removal, please teach michigan the way. chicago, you are brilliant! you plow as it is snowing. there is no accumulation. snow is constantly removed. salt is constantly laid down on the road. there is no waiting until after the snow, when it is already packed onto the pavement and there is no such thing as removal. please, send michigan your snow removal guide. the state is definitely in need.
